CAUTION
Due to the weight of the equipment, mounting of the Powershare Gateway should be performed with two people.
  1. Using a knockout kit, punch out the necessary conduit entrance knockouts in the Powershare Gateway. All cable knockouts are ¾ inch in diameter but can be expanded to 2-½ inches. Additional knockouts can be made in the area highlighted green in the image below.

    CAUTION
If drilling into the enclosure, exercise caution and clean any metal shavings out of the enclosure after drilling. Only drill into the areas of the enclosure indicated in green in the image below. Drilling elsewhere could result in damage to the Powershare Gateway and/or water ingress (if drilling into the top of the enclosure).

    Note
For conduit entry at the top of the Gateway enclosure, a Tesla Top Hub must be used in order to maintain enclosure ingress protection. If using top cable entry, remove the Top Hub Cap from the enclosure and install the Tesla Top Hub (Tesla P/N 1549184-00-A (2-inch kit) or Tesla P/N 1549184-01-A (1 ¼-inch kit)).
  2. For Powershare Gateway units with part number 1841000-x2-E and later, mount Powershare Gateway to the included wall bracket:
    1. Using a drill and level, mount the bracket to the selected wall. Refer to Appendix A: Powershare Gateway Wall Bracket Anchoring Details for additional details on the type and number of fasteners to use.

      Note
The Powershare Gateway bracket is not compatible with mounting directly to a post. If Powershare Gateway must be mounted to a post or post-like structure, add at least two horizontal struts to the structure so that the bracket can be mounted to the struts.
    2. Mount the Powershare Gateway on the bracket:
      1. Position the Powershare Gateway close to the wall and adjust the height of the unit until its mounting cleats are just above the flanges on the bracket.
      2. Lower the Powershare Gateway until the top cleats engage with the top flanges on the bracket and the bottom cleats engage with the bottom flanges.

      Note
The Gateway must be installed in the orientation shown below. Do not install the enclosure upside down or on its side.
    3. Install and tighten the provided T20 set screw in the threaded hole as shown below to secure Powershare Gateway to the bracket.
  3. For Powershare Gateway units with part number 1841000-x2-D and earlier, mount Powershare Gateway to the wall directly:
    1. If needed, use a blade-tip screwdriver and hammer to punch out the knockouts covering the Powershare Gateway enclosure mounting holes.

      Note
Skip this step if the Powershare Gateway enclosure mounting holes are uncovered from the factory.
    2. Using a drill, level, and 2 inch screws, mount the Powershare Gateway enclosure to a structurally sound wall. At least two fasteners must be secured to a structural member.
