Replacing the Lower Speed Control Sub Assembly
Tools and Equipment
- Cut-resistant gloves (ANSI Cut Level 3 or EN 388 Level C)
- 3 mm Allen wrench
- 8 mm open ended / box wrench
Procedure
- Turn the cam action spring latch 180 degrees and slide the lower tube completely out
of the ramp assembly.
- Using a 3 mm Allen wrench and an 8 mm
open ended / box wrench:
- Remove the (2x) washers and the (2x) M5 lock nuts securing the (2x) M5 x 25 mm flat head screws.
- Remove the (2x) M5 x 25 mm flat
head screws holding the upper speed control assembly and peel protector in place.
- Remove the peel protector and set aside.
- Slide the old lower speed control
assembly out of the lower tube.
- Slide a new speed control assembly into
the lower tube.
- Replace the peel protector, ensuring the step sits on top of the rubber speed control assembly.
- Install the (2x) M5 x 25 mm flat head
screws, ensuring they are aligned with the through holes in the peel protector, speed
control assembly, and tube.
- Install the (2x) M5 washers and (2x) M5 lock nuts, tightening them with the 3 mm Allen
wrench and 8 mm open ended / box wrench.
- Repeat this procedure for the other ramp.
