Dismounting & Removing Powerwall

Required tools:
  • Powerwall 3 reusable packaging
  • Dolly
  • Blanket or cardboard padding
Required PPE:
  • Cut resistant gloves
  • Hard toe footwear

  1. Clear any tools, equipment, and debris on the ground away from the battery.
  2. Slide the dolly platform under the battery and lift the battery until the battery is no longer resting on the mounting bracket.
  3. Angle the dolly backwards and slowly bring the battery away from the wall. Carefully stabilize the battery on the platform with a strap.
  4. Transport the battery to the Service vehicle.
  5. Angle the shipping crate against the vehicle.
  6. Insert the bottom of the battery into the crate. Apply pressure with your foot to the bottom of the crate.
  7. Bring the battery and the crate together until the battery is sitting properly in the bottom. With the dolly still attached, slowly lean the battery into the crate. Detach the dolly strap and pull the dolly away from the battery.
  8. Carefully lift and slide the crate and battery into the vehicle.
  9. Place the top half of the crate over the Powerwall.
  10. Clean up the working area.
  11. Remove the LOTO from the breaker.
