Replacing the Brake Rotor

Tools and Equipment

  • 5 mm Hex bit
  • T25 Torx bit
  • Pliers
  • Torque wrench (capable of 2.5 Nm and 10 Nm torques)
  • Brake rotor
  1. Use a 5 mm hex key to remove the 2 x brake caliper screws securing the tire to the dolly.
  2. Remove the cotter pin so the wheel is free to be removed from the axle. Remove the tire.
  3. Use a T25 Torx bit to remove the 6 x screws securing the brake disc and remove the brake rotor.
  4. Install the new brake rotor. Tighten the 6 x screws to 2.5 Nm in the order shown below.
  5. Fill the tire pressure to the target of 45 psi (3.1 bar). Replace the valve stem cap.
  6. Re-install the wheel on the axle. Insert the cotter pin and deform it to secure the wheel in place.
  7. Re-install the brake caliper and torque the 2 x screws to 10 Nm.
