Using Dolly Platform with Powerwall Dolly
-
To remove the front tray from
the platform, squeeze the latch then remove the tray. Set the tray aside until
the dolly has been lifted onto the platform.
NoteKeep the tray nearby - it will be reinstalled once the dolly is on the platform.
-
Bring the Powerwall on the dolly to the front of the platform, positioning it
in the gap where the front tray was removed.
NoteRefer to Using Dolly with Powerwall 3 for complete instructions to transport and lift a Powerwall for installation.
-
Use the drill to raise the Powerwall on the dolly until it sits above the front
edge of the platform. Tilt the dolly forward until the Powerwall is straight
(perpendicular to the floor).
CAUTIONHold the dolly brake lever when not in motion to keep the dolly in place.
-
Use the drill to lower Powerwall until its feet rest on the platform. Continue
to lower the dolly to raise the wheels off the floor, continuing until the dolly
reaches its hard stop.
CAUTIONEnsure the drill running the dolly is set to the highest clutch setting BELOW the drill setting. Failure to set the clutch will damage the drill and the dolly when hitting the hard stop.
-
While another operator holds the dolly steady, re-install the removable front
tray. Ensure the latch clicks into place and the tray is secure.
-
Slowly move the Powerwall toward the wall. Once there is enough space at the
rear of the platform, the operator of the dolly should step up onto the platform
to complete the install.
NoteRefer to Using Dolly with Powerwall 3 for complete instructions to install Powerwall using the dolly.
- To remove the dolly from the platform, begin by lowering the dolly lifting plate to its lowest position (there should be 1 - 2 inches of ground clearance).
-
Wheel the dolly to the back edge of the platform until the wheels touch the
stops on the rear edge.
-
Stand the dolly straight up, then check that the wheels and lifting tracks of
the dolly are seated completely on the removable tray.
CAUTIONIf carrying a Powerwall, ensure the dolly is not resting on the sides of the platform.CAUTIONHold the dolly brake lever when not in motion to keep the dolly in place.
-
With another operator holding the dolly in place, squeeze the latch to release
the tray, then remove it from the platform.
-
Raise the dolly lifting plate by driving the drill in the forward direction;
the wheels will begin to lower to the ground.
CAUTIONAs the wheels are lowered to the ground, proceed slowly and with caution to ensure the wheels clear the platform.
-
Once the wheels reach the ground, continue to raise the dolly lifting platform
until it can be wheeled away from the platform. Once clear, lower the lifting
plate for transport.
