Replacing the Upper Powerwall 2 Bumpers

Tools and Equipment:

  • 10 mm Wrench
  • T30 Torx bit
  • Torque wrench (capable of 1.5 Nm torques)
  • Upper bumper

  1. Use a 10 mm wrench and a T30 Torx bit to unfasten the screw securing the upper bumpers to the dolly.
  2. Remove the aluminum spacer and disassemble the bumper.
  3. Re-assemble the new bumper by inserting the washer into the bumper counterbore, adding the screw, and putting the aluminum spacer over the screw.
  4. Place the newly stacked bumper onto the dolly and re-install the screw.

    Use a torque wrench to torque the screw to 1.5 Nm.

    Do NOT overtighten or it will crush the bumper.
