Connect to Powershare Gateway to Update Software
Note
See update the Wall Connector
software before connecting to Powershare Gateway. The Powershare Gateway Tesla Asset Controller (TACO)
is powered by 12V from the Universal Wall Connector, which is only enabled when Wall
Connector is on software version 24.44 or later. If the Wall
Connector software is not updated, Powershare Gateway will not be powered.
- Confirm that both the Powershare Gateway 12V and Status LEDs are ON,
and the Status LED is light blue (indicating Powershare Gateway is ready for device setup).
- In Tesla One, enter the Tesla Device Setup flow.
Follow the prompts to scan the QR code on the Powershare Gateway deadfront.
- Select Networking, then Wi-Fi to connect Powershare Gateway to the customer's Wi-Fi network.
- Update the Powershare Gateway software to version 24.44.2 or later:
- Select Software Update,
then Check for
Update.NoteIf software version 24.44.2 (or later) is not available, see Issue: Minimum Software Version is Not Available.
- On the landing page, select Stop System.
- Select Perform Update.
- Select Download on my
phone.NoteWhen a new software version is downloaded to the phone, the old versions remain saved in Tesla One until they are deleted. To check which files are already saved on the phone, select More > Settings > Manage Files. If there are old versions, select the trash icon to delete them.
- When the update is complete, follow the prompt to connect to again.
- Select Send update from my
phone.NoteLeave the phone near Powershare Gateway while the update is downloaded. If the phone moves away from Powershare Gateway, it will disconnect and the download will fail.
- Wait for the update to be
downloaded and installed. Powershare Gateway will reboot and a
Lost connection to
Tesla Energy Gateway message will display; connect to Powershare Gateway again and confirm
the update to version 24.44.2 or later
was successful:
- Select Software Update,
then Check for
Update.
