Remote Service Access and Remote Device Setup in Powerhub
It is now possible to remotely access Powerwall or Tesla Solar Inverter systems via the Device Setup interface in Powerhub. This feature allows support personnel to change settings and/or troubleshoot a system directly.
Note
Beginning with the following
software versions, Remote Service Access is automatically enabled for 90 days after
device setup is complete:
- Powerwall / Tesla Solar Inverter software version 24.44 or greater
- Tesla One app version 12.32 or greater
Enable Remote Service Access
To allow support personnel to change system settings, Remove Service Access must be enabled. See Enable Remote Service on Get Help and Service for Your Powerwall for customer instructions to enable Remote Service Access in their Tesla App (app version 4.32 or greater required).
Alternatively, if an installer is onsite, they can enable Remote Service in the
Device Setup interface in Tesla One:
- Select Settings, then Advanced Settings.
- Select Remote Service Access.
- Select Extend to 90
days.NoteFor Tesla Solar Inverter, the only way to enable Remote Service Access after the default 90 day period is for the installer to do so using Tesla One. It is not possible for the customer to enable Remote Service Access using their Tesla App.
Note
The duration that Remote
Service Access remains active depends on how it was enabled:
- Following initial device setup, Remote Service Access is enabled for a default 90 days
- When the installer enables Remote Service Access via Tesla One, it will remain active for 90 days
- When the customer enables Remote Service Access via the Tesla App, it will remain active for 30 days
Access System via Device Setup Interface in Powerhub
Note
Powerwall / Tesla Solar
Inverter must be updated to software version 24.44 or greater to proceed.
Note
The system must have Remote
Service Access enabled and the user must have Owner or Advanced Support
permissions to change settings in Powerhub (see User Management Feature for
information on adding or editing user access). Support personnel can access the
Device Setup interface when a Powerwall system does not have Remote Service
Access enabled, but they won’t be able to change settings.
- Select the Tesla One icon next to
the system Site Controller in the Devices window.
- Use the Device Setup
interface to change system settings and/or troubleshoot issues. See the Device Setup Guide
for complete instructions to configure and troubleshoot a system in Tesla One.
