Prepare Ethernet Wiring

1. Cut the desired length of CAT5 wire.
   Note

   See Plan Cable Length Between Components for maximum wire length between components.
2. Using an RJ45 Ethernet crimping tool, crimp the RJ45 connectors to the T-568A wire color standard as shown below:

   	Pin-out	Wire Color
   	1	Green striped
   	2	Green
   	3	Orange striped
   	4	Blue
   	5	Blue striped
   	6	Orange
   	7	Brown striped
   	8	Brown

3. Test the Ethernet cable using an Ethernet tester. Ensure the readings from either end of the cable match, 1-8 in ascending order.
