Plan Powerwall 3 Mounting Configuration

Choose the Powerwall 3 Mounting Configuration

The following table outlines the approved mounting configurations for Powerwall 3. See Appendix A: Powerwall 3 Anchoring Details for which mounting configuration should be used depending on the structural framing and the seismic and wind speed conditions for the site.

Choose a Wall Capable of Supporting Powerwall 3

Choose a wall capable of supporting the full weight of Powerwall 3. Walls with the following characteristics are acceptable:

  • Wood or metal studs at regular intervals
  • Solid concrete, CMU, or select brick masonry

Other wall types are also acceptable depending on mounting configuration; see Powerwall 3 Wall Bracket Anchoring Details for Wall-mounting or Ground-mounting on Approved Foundation for all acceptable wall types when mounting Powerwall 3 on the mounting bracket.

If ground-mounting Powerwall, choose a level surface adjacent to a wall space that meets the above requirements. Ensure the bearing surface is structurally sound and flat, and supports both Powerwall feet.
