Step 3: Make Electrical Connections
Warning
Always terminate DC
wires at the Solar Inverter before connecting them to the solar panels.
Warning
When the PV array is
exposed to sunlight, a dangerous DC voltage is generated in the DC conductors. Touching
the live components of these conductors can lead to lethal electric shocks.
Warning
Unplugging the slot-in
DC conductors from the terminals when the Solar Inverter is under load may cause an
electric arc, which can result in electric shock and/or burns.
Warning
Do not touch any live
components on the Solar Inverter.
Warning
Prior to performing any
work on the Solar Inverter, disconnect it from AC voltage sources, as described in Appendix H: Servicing Solar Inverter.
Warning
The Solar Inverter DC inputs are not intended for connection to a
battery or any other type of DC source except for a PV array.
Note
Refer to Appendix B: Wiring Reference for an
overview of the wiring compartment as well as all wiring requirements and
recommendations, including wire colors and gauges.
