Step 2: Mount the Solar Inverter
Note
For mounting requirements based on
wall type, refer to Appendix A: Mounting Details.
-
Using a drill and level, mount
the bracket to the selected wall. See Appendix A: Mounting Details for
additional details on the type and number of fasteners to use.
-
Using a hole saw or knockout
kit, drill out the cable access holes from the Solar Inverter that were selected
in Step 1: Plan the Installation Site. All
cable knockouts are ¾” in diameter but can be expanded.
CAUTIONIf drilling into the enclosure, exercise caution and clean any metal shavings out of the enclosure after drilling. Only drill into the areas of the enclosure indicated in green in the image below. Drilling elsewhere could result in damage to the Solar Inverter and/or water ingress (if drilling into the top of the enclosure).NoteTesla Solar Inverter with Site Controller (1538000-45-y) has two fewer knockouts than all other variants. All other variants have an additional knockout on the left side and on the rear of the unit as shown below.NoteTesla Solar Inverter with Site Controller (1538000-45-y) has (2) knockouts that are punched out at the factory. If not using these knockouts, seal them with the conduit hole seals provided in the accessory bag (Tesla PN 1576749-00-A).
