This manual covers installation of both the 3.8 kW (Tesla P/N 1534000-xx-y) and 7.6 kW (Tesla P/N 1538000-xx-y) Tesla Solar Inverters. Unless specified, the instructions in this manual apply to any Tesla Solar Inverter.

Most variants of the Solar Inverter have a PV Communication board, which is a computer that coordinates site functions. One variant of the 7.6 kW Solar Inverter (Tesla P/N 1538000-45-y) includes a Site Controller in place of the PV Communication board. This variant, referred to as Solar Inverter with Site Controller, also includes a factory-installed Neurio meter and CT for revenue-grade metering (RGM). It also requires a Neutral wire in its AC power connection, which is unique to Solar Inverter with Site Controller. Each unique aspect of installing the Solar Inverter with Site Controller will be explicitly called out in this manual.
