Required Supplies

  • Mounting bracket hardware (see Appendix A: Powerwall+ Mounting Details)
  • Wiring methods (depending on local electrical requirements)
    • For installations where communication wiring must be protected, ½ inch LFNC Liquid Tight Flexible Non-metallic Conduit (LFNC) with NPT threaded fittings
    • For installation where communication wiring protection is not required, ½ inch NPT threaded cable glands
  • Minimum 600 V rated 4-conductor (twisted pair optional) or double-insulated (with one twisted pair) shielded copper (Cu) cable (for communication connection between Powerwall and the Backup Switch)

    Note
If custom cable is used, it must meet the following specifications:
    • 16 AWG or 18 AWG (according to wiring distance limits defined in Plan Distance Between Components)
    • 4-conductor (twisted pair optional)
    • Class 1 Circuit Listed
    • Outdoor-rated
    • Overall shield with drain
  • Minimum 10 AWG, 600 V rated, UV resistant, 90°C rated, copper (Cu) wire
    • DC and AC wiring conductors must be made of solid wire, stranded wire or fine stranded wire. When using fine stranded wire, bootlace ferrules must be used.
    • Conductor cross-section intake range: 10 AWG to 6 AWG (6 mm² to 16 mm²)
  • Oxide-inhibiting electrical joint compound

Optional Supplies

  • Luggage lock (such as a Master Lock 120 series) for securing the solar assembly door shut
