Install Tesla 100 A CTs
Warning
Before installing, disconnecting, and/or adjusting CTs,
ensure the circuits being measured are not energized and the system is completely
powered down. Failure to de-energize the system may compromise operator and
equipment safety.
- Plug the Tesla 100 A CT into the terminal in the Backup Gateway. Ensure the connector is fully seated in the terminal.
-
Clamp the CT around the
conductor to be measured.
Tips
- When metering split-phase 240 V solar inverters, a single CT on L1 or L2 can be used to meter solar production.
- The CT1 and CT2 terminals have voltage references to L1 and L2 respectively and cannot be reconfigured. The CT3 terminal has a default voltage reference to L1 but can be configured as L2 during device setup.
- Ensure CTs are facing the proper direction as indicated on the label. A CT will show negative current if installed backwards.
- The Powerwall installer has the option to set a Conductor Export Limit, or a Site Charge Limit. When used, the Powerwall will dynamically curtail to meet these site-specific programmed thresholds. See Appendix G: Feature Notes for more information.
