Powerwall 3 Logo LED Issues

Tesla Logo LED

Powerwall 3 has an illuminated logo LED. Expansion units do not have an LED and therefore the logo is not illuminated. The following diagram and table are relevant only for Powerwall 3 units (not Expansion units).

LED State Indication
Solid white Normal operation
Flashing white Powerwall 3 is idle. Will enter sleep state if no actions in progress
Off Powerwall 3 is off or in sleep state
Flashing Red Inverter (PWS) fault, e.g. AFCI or GFCI, RSD, etc.

Issue: Powerwall 3 Logo LED is Flashing White

  1. Connect to Powerwall 3 and select Start System.
  2. If the logo LED has stopped blinking and is no longer illuminated, Powerwall 3 may have entered the Sleep state. Follow the steps in Waking Powerwall 3 from Sleep State.
  3. If the logo LED has turned solid white, the system is now operating as expected.

    If data is not available in Tesla One, even after waiting a few minutes, contact Install Support.
  4. If the logo LED is still flashing and the unit is a Follower, confirm it is connected to the Leader correctly via Ethernet (see Ethernet Cable Testing).

Issue: Powerwall 3 LED is Flashing Red

  1. Connect to Powerwall 3 and confirm the system is running. Select Start System if it is not.
  2. If data is temporarily available in Tesla One and the LED is blinking every 5 seconds:
    1. Turn the Powerwall 3 switch OFF.
    2. Turn the switch back ON.
    3. If data is visible for over a minute and the LED turns solid white, the system is operating as expected.
  3. If the logo LED continues to blink red, contact Install Support for assistance troubleshooting the fault(s).
