Optional: Disable Automatic Backup and Automatic Grid-Forming Retries

ON: Powerwall will automatically grid form when a grid outage is detected.NoteThis is the default option for most jurisdictions, and it does not need to be adjusted during installation.

OFF: When a grid outage is detected, the customer will be prompted
via the Tesla App to enable backup power. Powerwall will only grid form once
the customer has enabled backup power.NoteFor jurisdictions that have adopted the 2023 National Electrical Code (NEC), the default position of this toggle is OFF. If the customer chooses to do so, they can change this setting in their Tesla App.
Automatic Grid-Forming Retries

ON: If the Powerwall system is overloaded, it will automatically
retry grid-forming.NoteThis is the default option for most jurisdictions, and it does not need to be adjusted during installation.

OFF: If the Powerwall system is overloaded, the customer will be
prompted via the Tesla App to reduce loads and restart the system. Powerwall
will only retry grid-forming once the customer has manually restarted the system.NoteFor jurisdictions that have adopted the 2023 National Electrical Code (NEC), the default position of this toggle is OFF. If the customer chooses to do so, they can change this setting in their Tesla App.NoteFor systems with third party backup that includes an Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS), this setting must be toggled OFF.
