Medidor de Energía Remoto Tesla Not Reporting Values After Install

After an installation has been completed, the Medidor de Energía Remoto Tesla stops reporting values.

Steps to Resolve

  1. Safely locate and turn OFF the breaker for the Medidor de Energía Remoto Tesla.
  2. Confirm that the Medidor de Energía Remoto Tesla antenna is located outside the metal enclosure of the panel:
  3. If it is not, relocate the antenna outside the metal enclosure following the instructions in the Residential Energy Product Metering Guide.
  4. Turn the Medidor de Energía Remoto Tesla breaker ON, then confirm the meter LED is blinking green.
  5. Reboot the Powerwall system:
    1. Log in to the Device Setup interface in Tesla One, then connect to the Leader Powerwall 3.
    2. Perform a software update if one is available.
    3. On the landing page, select Stop System.
    4. Wait approximately 10 seconds.
    5. On the landing page, select Start System.
  6. Select System > Metering, and confirm the Medidor de Energía Remoto Tesla is now reporting values.
  7. Select Remote Meter and confirm the Signal Strength is at least 50%.

    If Signal Strength is lower than 50%:
    1. Use a Wi-Fi extender or other method to increase Wi-Fi signal strength.
    2. Connect the Medidor de Energía Remoto Tesla to Powerwall 3 via RS-485 wiring.
