Enroll in HECO BOYD+ & Battery Bonus

Powerwall systems in the HECO service territory in Hawaii can participate in the Bring Your Own Device Plus (BOYD+) program, a generous incentive program to aid in the goal of moving Hawaii toward 100% clean energy by 2045. Legacy systems installed prior to July 1, 2024 may have qualified for the HECO Battery Bonus program which worked toward the same goal.

To enable BOYD+ for a new system, or to enable Battery Bonus for an existing qualifying system:

  1. Confirm Tesla One has been updated to version 24.48 or later.
  2. Confirm Powerwall has been updated to software version 25.42 or later
  3. From the Settings screen, select Advanced Settings.
  4. Select Special Programs > HECO BOYD+ & Battery Bonus.
  5. Enter the Committed Capacity (the power required to discharge daily; must be between 100 and 5,000 W per Powerwall).

    Note
    The Powerwall settings and backup reserve can impact the amount of power the Powerwall can commit during an event. The backup reserve can be adjusted to meet desired power levels.
  6. Select the Start Time (the time at which power will begin to be discharged).
  7. Select Enable.
