Powerwall backup system (Powerwall 2, Powerwall+, or Powerwall
3), Wall Connector (Gen 3 or Universal)
Powerwall is not
compatible with Powershare Gateway. Do not install
Powershare Gateway with Powerwall.
Note
A Powerwall
system with Wall Connector does not require any additional
equipment or installation steps; Powershare functionality will
be enabled with a software update. Do not install Powershare
Gateway with a Powerwall system. Do not attempt to run
communication wiring between the Wall Connector and the
Powerwall or Backup Gateway / Backup Switch.
Can be installed now, Powershare feature coming soon
1 Backup Switch with Tesla P/N 1624171-xx-L or greater is required for
Powershare home backup installations.
2 If the system includes a UL
1741-listed solar system and there is capacity in the backup panel, ensure the solar
system is included in the backup circuit to allow Cybertruck to recharge during an
outage. A maximum of 11.5 kW AC of solar can be installed in the backup circuit. This
limit protects the Powershare system and Cybertruck from excessive PV power during a
grid outage.
Note
The solar system overcurrent protection device (OCPD) size must be
less than or equal to the Universal Wall Connector breaker size; for instance, when
Universal Wall Connector is connected to a 60 A breaker, a solar system with up to a
60 A OCPD can be included in the backup circuit.
The Wall Connector Dynamic Power
Management and/or Group Power Management features are not available when installing
Universal Wall Connector for Powershare.
