Note
Refer to Appendix A: Wiring Reference for all wiring specifications.

Depending on local requirements, communication wiring can be installed through conduit or through a cable gland. Refer to local codes to determine wiring requirements.

  1. Run appropriately sized conduit between Wall Connector and Powershare Gateway.

    Note
Ensure that all conduit joints and outlets have smooth edges so that wiring is not damaged as it is run through the conduit.
  2. Run the 4-conductor communication cable from the Powershare Gateway through the conduit, into the Wall Connector wiring compartment. Conduit and fittings shall meet or exceed the NEMA rating of the enclosure.
  3. Wire the 4-conductor communication cable to the Powershare Gateway:
    1. Strip the outer communication wire jacket about 3 inches (76 mm), then strip each conductor 3/8 inch (10 mm).
    2. To open the RS-485+ and RS-485- terminals, use a 2.5 mm screwdriver to loosen each screw. Insert each conductor as far as possible into the terminal, then tighten the screws.
    3. For the 12V and GND terminals, open the WAGO connectors and insert each conductor as far as possible into the terminal, then close the connectors.

      Note
Do not connect the 12V and GND wires to the four-conductor connector to the left of the RS-485 connector.
  4. Wire the 4-conductor communication cable to the Universal Wall Connector:
    1. Strip the outer communication wire jacket about 3 inches (76 mm), then strip each conductor 3/8 inch (10 mm).
    2. Insert a cabinet tip or electronics tip slotted screwdriver (up to 3/32-inch or 2.5 mm) to open each connector lever. Insert each conductor as far as possible into the terminal, then use the screwdriver to close the connector lever.
