Commission the System

Device Setup in Tesla One for complete Device Setup instructions.
- Launch Tesla One and enter Device Setup (navigate to tesla.com/teslaone if Tesla One is not already installed).
- See Powershare System Device Setup in Tesla One for instructions to connect to the Universal Wall Connector to update software and configure the Universal Wall Connector breaker limit.
- Scan the QR code on the Powershare Gateway to connect and begin Device Setup.
- Select Networking to configure a Wi-Fi or Ethernet connection (if needed).
- Select Software then Check for Update.
- On the System page, select Scan
for Devices and confirm Backup Switch appears in the Devices list. This will
confirm that the CAN communication is working.NoteSee the Powershare System Device Setup Guide for troubleshooting steps if Backup Switch does not appear.
- Confirm the Wall Connector also appears on the Devices page.
- Select Settings and configure the Grid Code.
- Select Start System, then wait for the system devices to update.
- Do not perform a Backup Test as this is expected to fail (Backup Switch not installed).
- Select Registration and register the system to the customer.
Note that the landing page will display “Off-Grid,” indicating that there is no grid connection (there will be an exclamation point icon over the grid icon) and no power flow between the grid and the Powershare system and/or the home. There will also be a “Backup Switch Not Installed” alert. This is expected behavior until the Backup Switch has been installed.
