Backup Gateway 2 / Powerwall+ / Solar Inverter Wi-Fi Network is Broadcasting but I Cannot Connect

Symptoms

When scanning for Wi-Fi networks on the commissioning phone, the Backup Gateway 2 / Powerwall+ / Solar Inverter Wi-Fi network appears but the commissioning phone does not connect to it.

Steps to Troubleshoot

  1. If manually entering the network name (SSID) and password, ensure they are entered exactly as they appear on the QR label.

    Note
    Sometimes a unit mistakenly has two different printed stickers with different passwords. If this is the case, try both passwords.
  2. Try placing the commissioning phone in Airplane mode, then enable Wi-Fi.
  3. Restart the system:
    • If the system is installed with Backup Gateway, push and hold the Gateway Reset button for 5 seconds (1 below).

    • If the system is installed with Powerwall+, turn the Enable switch OFF then ON.
    • If the system has only Solar Inverter, turn the Solar Inverter breaker OFF then ON.
  4. If the issue persists, contact Tesla Support.
